You are indeed at a full one point disadvantage, however one cannot plan for these things i.e. "Someone may time out, so I'll play really slowly" is nonsense if you are a fast player. Most of us come to this place to play chess and that's what you have done, best just to bear up and carry on. I don't think a solution exists to the guy who times his games out.

Ok, I play fast, and I'm in a tournament.
One of the players has 4 completed games, 2 against me, and 2 against the top ranked in the group, winning one and losing one against each of us.
But now, all his other games have timed out, and the rest of the field get
full 2 points against him. Doesn't this put me and the top ranked guy at a disadvantage?
