Ties

what is happening with ties?how do they work?sometimes i think they are "unfair" to me...

anyone knows?

Of course an uncaring computer program personally has it out for you.

no i mean that sometimes when we have the same score somebody ties for 1st and somebody else for 2nd sometimes to my advantage and sometimes to my disadvantage....the thing is that i don't know why that's why i am asking....and when i said 'unfair' at my 1st post...i couldn't find a better word....

It seems the lower ranked player comes out just a tad ahead in the event of a tie... but not exactly sure.

Usually the tiebreaker is based on the records of the people you beat. So if you win against somebody who beat a lot of other people in the round, you get 1st place.

What about corraspondance chess final ties where theres only two people in and they both draw or each win one? Does it just count who ever had more wins in the whole tournament?
