Tournament Structure and etiquette

If you haven't really started moving you could abortinstead of resigning that way it doesn't affect your rating. I just entered a tournament also finding out the same information you found out.

With 3 days to make a move in any given game,why would you feel pressured to play 8 games,you have 5 or 6 going at present.??
I signed up for a tournament not knowing what to expect. I expected that it would be one game at time, but I actually ended up being bombarded with eight separate games.
I definitely can't play eight games at once. How can I tell what the structure of a tournament is so that I don't get caught in this predicament again?
Also, would it be rude to resign most of the games or what is the best way to handle this situation?
