If you are a 1622, there is virtually no way to play against one of the top Grandmasters you listed other than in a simul.
When I used to play a lot in NYC in the 80's, there were occasional FIDE rated tournaments. Usually a bunch of local masters signed up and there were usually a couple of titled players. There were always one or two low players rated below 2100 who signed up and who lost all or almost all of their games. It seemed like whoever signed up must have a lot of self confidence and intestinal fortitude. You wouldn't even get a FIDE rating unless you achieved a rating of 2200.
I give you credit that you were able to enter such a tournament and get experience against much stronger players.

The round robin just makes it easier for the bigger fish to eat the little ones and get "free cheap rating points easier to rig into a system and hand over the excuse it is a round robin.

It is easier said then done to say plain and simple that this tournament was a sham and the only people who knew it were the higher rated players looking to get free wins.
MINDOVERMATTER7: A few things to remember:
1) The round-robin system is used because it's the fairest pairing system. If the number of participants is too high, they use the Swiss system, because there won't be time for a round-robin pairing.
2) Don't be upset because a higher rated player continues to play in an equal position. They've gained their high rating because they don't give away easy draws to lower rated players. They know that they are far less likely to make a mistake, and therefore to continue to play knowing that sooner or later the lower rated player will probably make a mistake.
3) If you ever get to play world class grandmasters, in a simul or in a tournament, you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll do the same. In spades. They'll most likely to play until only the kings are left. They take no prisoners. They will make you earn your half or full point, should you ever manage to get the better of them.
4) Items 1 to 3 are not evidence of a corrupt system. You don't give away easy draws when you face a player rated E1200 now, do you? Look at football: they play the round-robin system as well, even though some games will be mismatches. The cup format is used when teams from all divisions are playing in the same competition.
See these tournaments as a great opportunity to gain experience and develop your own game. Sure, defeats are bitter pills to swallow, but that's chess for you. Sometimes you win, sometimes you draw, sometimes you lose. Just try to find out why you made mistakes that made you lose the game or drop a half point, and learn how to avoid making them in future games.
I have observed a tournament I have played years ago I noticed one ridiculous factor in this broken system. I also know I will gain heat for this pessimistic attitude. I observed closely the pairing in a national championship here where I live the rating gaps were completely lopsided players that were rated 2000 playing lower rated players in a round robin match. There are many reasons for this rigging so that the national champions can rotate the 1st and 2nd spots accordingly in the area where I live. There is something definitely wrong with FIDE in general the bad sportsmanship, the mocking and humiliation of players that do not do well in these tournaments. I will not name names within the first round of this national tournament at the highest seat playing black had an obviously winning position against white in the Nimzo Indian Opening. The game ended in a draw while I was sitting against a 2000 or more rated player being a 1622 have to grind out a 50+ plus move game just to get a draw. I asked the arbiters about the rulings on this closed game within the French Defense with the Bxc3 in the Paulsen Variation. We ended in the most humanly possible closed position and we played until 2am in the morning for a draw. The big issue myself I got tired of course and I blundered the game after playing a 50+ moves as a 1622 rated player and losing. The biggest issue is that the people who organized the tournament held a grudge against me or they exchange information about each player just to stake them in the heart, this game is cruel savage and inhospitable for people with heart. This "professional FIDE" corporation obviously rigged the pairings so that each player with lower ratings would have to stack against the worst of the worst human beings I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I will never participate in this rated lopsided rigged garbage tournaments that FIDE holds ever again! This game if you want to play in tournaments you have to be cold blooded ruthless cunning and bloodthirsty because the arbiters will not help you with the other player being a evil son of a gun in any moment of the game unless you call it. This game may seem "cheap" but if you want to play overseas to play with player that are Legends like Magnus Carlsen Garry Kasparov Alexander Grichuk, Vassily Ivanchuk, Fabiano Caruana, Sergey Karjakin, Anatoly Karpo,v Hou Yifan, Hikaru Nakamura, you are going to have to shell out some change or your country is going to have to fund you to go over seas otherwise you are going to be stuck playing with the same players over and over again which is sad. I don't want to name the specific tournament I am talking about because I know for a fact I will get heat for it so I am not going to bother with it. I am recounting my experiences in order to gain a reaction from other players who either feel the same way or are completely against the idea that your local national FIDE tournament is corrupt. I have utmost respect for these players because having to fight a system like this is tougher then the Berlin Defense vs the Ruy Lopez.
That's what a round robin tournament is. Everybody plays a pair of games against each of the other players. If low rated players enter, there will be mismatches. There is no avoiding it.
