2023 ChessPunks Qualifiers & Finals Tournament Details

Hello ChessPunks!

Here are the tournament details for the first ChessPunks tournament sponsored by Chess.com.

4 Sections (rapid chess.com ratings):

1. 1. Under 1300 
   2. 1300-1699
   3. 1700-1999
   4. 2000+

8 people people will play in the Finals for each section. The Qualifiers will determine 6 spots. The other 2 spots per section will be by invitation. The invites will be based on their rating at the time of the invitation/qualification.

We will not punish anyone for improving. So if you are invited/qualify and your rating moves up before the Finals, you will still play in the original section. Example: if someone was rated 1295 when asked/qualified that person will play in the Under 1300 section even if by her rating went up to 1400 by the time we play the Finals Tournament.

Here are the details about both the Qualifier and Final Tournaments that we shared during the ChessPunks Awards Show:

Qualifiers will be held September 16 & 17 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time/16:00 CEST.

Come to this ChessPunks Page at that time to participate. 10 min + 2 sec increment

Finals will be held October 22 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time/16:00 CEST. 15 min + 5 sec increment
