After posting a 29-game streak in Saturday's event, GM Andrew Tang joined GM Hikaru Nakamura and Daniel Naroditsky as one of three players to win three Bullet Brawls in 2025. Tang scored 70 wins, one draw, and eight losses and scored 258 points—ahead of Nakamura on 246 and GM Yagiz Erdogmus on 222.

WGM Aleksandra Maltsevskaya once again proved to be a worthy winner of the $100 best women's prize, while Cesar Frank Talledo Lagos scored 78 wins and conceded just six losses in the community event.

The next edition of Bullet Brawl will commence on Saturday, March 15, at noon ET/18:00 CEST.

Tang has tasted victory on numerous occasions in Chess.com's speediest titled event, although his latest win was the first time he had to overcome three top-10 FIDE-rated players. GMs Nakamura, Arjun Erigaisi, and Alireza Firouzja, as well as 205 other titled players, stood between Tang and a seventh title. Nakamura was the only player who came close.

Tang's start was modest—the 25-year-old scored 7.5/10 and fell to GM Jose Martinez and chaos merchant CM Volen Dyulgerov. However, his 10/10 response quickly confirmed him as a frontrunner. The Gibbings-Weidenhagen Gambit, a Tang classic, is one of the unorthodox openings the speedster used to throw off unsuspecting opponents.

At the heart of Tang's performance is a blistering, 29-game winning streak, which featured a mix of miniatures, tactical slugfests, and thrilling time scrambles.

During the streak, Tang paired with GMs Nakamura, Oleksandr Bortnyk, and Jeffery Xiong in succession and won all three games, highlighting his golden form.

Despite building a healthy lead, Tang didn't slack off at the tail end of the arena, instead picking up wins against Arjun, Erdogmus, and Bortnyk. The latter of these was an 82-move epic that culminated in an opposite-colored bishop time scramble.

A 15-game win streak by Nakamura at the end of the event served as a stark reminder that there is never room to relax at the top of Bullet Brawl.

The 37-time winner even scored a 16-move win over world number-37 GM Sam Sevian after blasting open the h-file from the white side of the Pirc Defense, Main Line, Austrian, Unzicker, Bronstein Variation.

With seven titles to his name, Tang is the fourth most-prolific Bullet Brawl winner but is quickly gaining on Bortnyk, thanks to three wins in 2025.
