Chess And Disc Golf Combine At Discraft Supreme Flight Open
Most people don't associate the sport of disc golf with chess, but many of us are fans of both sports. The Discraft Supreme Flight Open (Presented by Florida's Adventure Coast) ran Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 2 at the Olympus Disc Golf Course in Brooksville, FL. Unlike most disc golf events, this one featured a large Chess.com fan zone with a big tent with tables, chairs, chess sets, giant chess, a merch table, and music.

On Friday night Chess.com hosted a Player's Party. Pro disc golfers, course staff, and VIP ticket holders enjoyed food & chess after the opening round of the open. Former six-time world champion (and co-owner of the course) Paul McBeth was present at the party, as was last year's Chess.com Invitational winner Anthony Barela.

The following night, players and fans competed in a chess tournament. The format was a three-round rapid event, with 10 minutes per side in each game. Congratulations to professional disc golfer Ethan Hine on his first place prize. He won a wooden chess board from House of Staunton.

Participants had a great time so you can look for more Chess and Disc Golf events in the future!
