UPDATE: Voting is now closed, and the winning variant is King of the Hill!

The Chess.com Community Championships are more than just a series of tournaments. It's a celebration of chess enthusiasts coming together to connect, compete, and have fun. So far, we've seen our members compete in Puzzles, 3-Check, Atomic, and 4 Player Chess

We now invite you to decide which variant you want to play in the fifth edition of this year's Community Championships! Cast your vote now and choose between Chess with Checkers, Horde, Giveaway, and King of the Hill:

Voting is open from April 17 to 22, and the winning variant will be in the May edition of the Community Championships.

Here's a small summary of each variant, in case you don't know them:

Chess With Checkers

This is the closest checkers will ever come to being as good as chess. Chess with Checkers is just like a regular game of chess, but all the pieces look like checker pieces. This variant is a hybrid of regular and blindfold chess, and it's perfect for you to practice your visualization and memory skills. Play Chess with Checkers.

Horde Chess

Horde Chess is a variant where Black starts with regular chess pieces, but White starts with nothing but 36 pawns. White must checkmate Black to win, while Black must capture all of White's pawns. Play Horde Chess.

Giveaway Chess

In Giveaway Chess, players must lose all their pieces or have no legal moves left to win the game. Captures are mandatory, so players must capture a piece if they can legally do so.

Giveaway Chess has no checks or checkmates, and players can't castle. Weirdly enough, players can promote their pawns to kings, so this is a perfect variant for those of you who are always getting your king in trouble. Play Giveaway Chess.

King of the Hill

King of the Hill is a chess variant similar to regular chess. The only difference lies in one extra way the game can end. In this variant, a player can win by taking their king to either the d4-, e4-, d5, or e5-squares. Play King of the Hill.
