Vacation

I just wanted to post some vacation tips for those who may not know.  This information is also posted in the Forum topic for Quick Knockouts.

Vacation is precious, especially for these events because of the fast 1-day time control, and the timeout threshold is 10% for future invitations. As such, please see the chess.com article on vacation: https://support.chess.com/article/624-how-does-vacation-work-how-much-time-do-i-get

I've learned a few tips about vacation that I'd like to share. It's possible to burn up more than one day in a 24-hour period if not used carefully. For example, as soon as you move, you are taken off vacation, but it will deduct 24 hours minimum from your vacation balance; therefore, if you make a move on a game, and are put back on vacation in 2 hours, you will get another 24 hours deducted from your vacation balance.

Personally, when I'm on vacation, I plan to take the day off and ponder my positions, so when I am ready to move, I can move on most of my games if not all of them. I will make moves on my games where my time is the lowest, so I don't get put on vacation right away again.

Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any questions.
