A mountain of a man and a blues giant in every sense of the word, Howlin' Wolf had a raw, gravelly style that made him a Chicago blues legend.

Born Chester Arthur Burnett, Wolf got his start in the early '50s recording for a couple of different labels, ultimately settling on Chess Records, where he cut most of his classics, surrounded by incredible musicians like Willie Dixon, Hubert Sumlin, and Buddy Guy.

Many of Wolf's songs became blues standards and had a second life via the British blues explosion of the '60s, when they were covered by the likes of The Rolling Stones and Cream.
