Bogo-Indian Defense owes its name to a contender for the title of world champion, who used this defense several times in the 20s. Bogolyubov can be considered almost an innovator, since with this debut there are only two previously played games (the first of them was played in 1883!).
Thanks to the early check, Black accelerates development and then switches to the Queen's Gambit, and sometimes to the Old Indian schemes.
