This is a "No Vacation" tournament!
The February 2019 GeoChess is for players with ratings between 1400 and 1750. In this month's edition, there is a 40% advance rate with medium-sized groups (5(2)->2) and so you'll play eight simultaneous games per round. Only players with more than 100 games, less than an average move time, and less than a 1% time-out rate may join. Please note that there is no vacation time. Since this has come up, I'll boot players with ratings above 1750 the day or so before the tournament starts to try to get clean numbers for the groups (chess.com automatically boots players with ratings that are too high before the tournament starts anyway).
There is a new GeoChess tournament dedicated to a different country every month on the 15th. I may pick the countries of the winners of past tournaments for a few of the themes, once those start wrapping up.
This tournament will not start until February 15th, 2019. The tournament does not auto-start if it fills before then (so that players can plan on a starting date). I may delay it one or two days following the 15th if it needs to fill.

GeoChess Argentina Updates
Hello Everyone;
Most excellently, we're going to have a full or near-full tournament by the starting date (February 15th - this Friday). I wanted to send you a note to request that you withdraw from the tournament if your rating falls outside of the ratings range (1400 to 1750). If you withdraw yourself, you can rejoin the tournament if your ratings fall back in range. In a couple of days, I'll start booting people with ratings out of the range, and if I boot you, you cannot return to the tournament.
If your rating falls under 1400, please consider joining the parallel tournament for the next-lower ratings bracket. Here is the link:

When I have the time--in a few months, perhaps--I may start a "King's Edition" for players with ratings above 1750.

GeoChess Argentina is a no vacation tournament
Dear Players:
Someone just pointed out to me that the tournament was not set to "no vacation," which was an error on my part. I just wanted to make sure that you all know that this is indeed a no vacation tournament. Please make sure that's not a problem for you if you stay enrolled.
The tournament is not scheduled to start for about two weeks, and it looks like we're going to have a pretty full roster this time.
