This is a "No Vacation" tournament!
The February GeoChess, Rook Edition is for players with ratings less than 1400. In this month's edition, there is a 40% advance rate with medium-sized groups (5(2)->2) and so you'll play eight simultaneous games per round. Only players with more than 75 games, less than an average move time, and less than a 2% time-out rate may join. Please note that there is no vacation time. Since this has come up, I'll boot players with ratings above 1400 the day or so before the tournament starts to try to get clean numbers for the groups (chess.com automatically boots players with ratings that are too high before the tournament starts anyway).
There is a new GeoChess tournament dedicated to a different country every month on the 15th. I may pick the countries of the winners of past tournaments for a few of the themes, once those start wrapping up.
This tournament will not start until February 15th, 2019. The tournament does not auto-start if it fills before then (so that players can plan on a starting date). I may delay it one or two days following the 15th if it needs to fill.

Tournament Updates
Hello Everyone;
Most excellently, we're going to have close or near to a full tournament by the starting date (February 15th - this Friday). I wanted to send you a note to request that you withdraw from the tournament if your rating exceeds 1400, the maximum rating for this one. If it dips below 1400 again, you can join again if you withdraw yourself. In a couple of days, I'll start booting people with ratings too high, and if I boot you, you cannot return to the tournament.
If your rating is too high, please consider joining the parallel tournament for the next ratings bracket. Here is the link:
