This is a "No Vacation" tournament!

I’ve run a few “rook” tournaments in the past now, am seeing a lot of familiar players and figured I would run these on a monthly basis.  I decided to switch the title from “rook” since the ratings range really does not seem “rookie”! The edition pays homage to Colorado, my home state, very possibly the most visit-worthy state in the USA. Cool These tournaments will be scheduled to begin on the 15th of each month.

If you wish to register for the November edition, here is the link.

This is for players with ratings between 1275 and 1700. In the October 2014 edition, there is a 40% advance rate with medium groups (5(2)->2) and so you'll begin with eight simultaneous games.  Only players with more than 100 games, less than an average of 6 hours per move, and less than a 4% time-out rate may join.  This is also a premium-only tournament and there is no vacation time.  I think that these fairly strict rules serve to improve the tournament  in terms of fewer dropouts and less general wonkiness. I'm starting to see a lot of familiar names in these which I think is great.

This tournament is scheduled to begin at midnight, chess.com time (Pacific US time, GMT-8) on October 15, 2014. There is no autostart in this tournament and it will not start earlier than the appointed time on 15. October.  It will also begin at the scheduled time even if we don't have 100 players.

I will remove players who look like they are "gaming" their score or whose score exceeds 1725 (or drops below 1250) in order to keep the games reasonably even.
