Rassilon Gambit

  In the days before the Time Lords, the great Gallifreyan warlord Rassilon leads a military coup against his own government and seizes control of the planet. Under an iron fist, he begins to change society to his own liking. But the only thing standing between him and total dominion over time and space is a mysterious interloper from Gallifrey's own future...

Rassilon, or Lord President Rassilon, is considered to be the greatest of the Time Lords. He was credited with taking their civilisation from the "dark times" to benevolent police of time by ending the Great Games and creating the basis of their current culture - the Time Lord High Council (Doctor Who: The Five Doctors). He stopped the draconian games of the Time Lords, which involved abducting warriors from other species throughout time and space and pitting them against each other in The Game Zone, a pocket of time and space created by the Time Lords that was at the centre of the Panopticon - the great city on the Time Lord home planet of Gallifrey. He created the council and the four colleges in which all future Time Lords spent their first 100 years in training.
